Music critiques play a crucial role in shaping the music industry. They are responsible for providing a critical evaluation of musical works, assessing their artistic merit, technical proficiency, and overall impact on listeners. A good music critique not only helps artists improve their craft, but also informs the public about new and noteworthy releases. However, music critiques are not without controversy, as opinions about what makes a great musical work can vary widely. Nonetheless, they remain an essential part of the music world, providing valuable feedback to both musicians and listeners alike. Pitchfork is one of the most renowned music publications, known for its insightful and often opinionated album critiques. Their reviews delve deep into the nuances of the music, analyzing everything from the lyrics and production to the overall message and impact of the album. Pitchfork's critiques are known for being both thorough and honest, providing readers with an in-depth understanding of the album and the artist behind it. While not every artist may agree with Pitchfork's assessment, their critiques have become an important part of the music industry, shaping the way that music is perceived and evaluated by both fans and critics alike. The 1980s were a decade of significant change and innovation in the music industry. The introduction of MTV in 1981 marked a major shift towards music videos as a crucial promotional tool, allowing artists to showcase their visual creativity and reach new audiences. The rise of synthesizers and electronic instruments in the early 80s gave birth to new genres such as synth-pop and new wave, while heavy metal and hair bands dominated the hard rock scene. The advent of CDs in the mid-80s also revolutionized the way music was consumed and distributed, eventually leading to the decline of vinyl records. The 80s saw the emergence of iconic artists such as Madonna, Michael Jackson, Prince, and Whitney Houston, who shaped the sound and style of the decade. The music industry in the 80s was a time of both innovation and excess, with record labels investing heavily in marketing and promotion to capitalize on the success of their artists.

I used to be competitive dancer. in 6th grade i switched studios so i could dance at the best studio in my state with the best kids in my age division. It was the first competition of the season and i was the new kid on the block so there was a lot of pressure on me. when i checked my costume bag i realized my mom had forgotten one of my group costumes. We were out of town and they’re was no way i was going to find my costume, so when everyone was distracted i stole my teammates costume out of her bag. S She got in a lot of trouble because everyone thought she had forgotten or lost her costume but in reality i had stolen it. I never got caught. i still feel guilty till this day.
